Hi everyone. Dufferin County is planning a FDCF day at DCF April 29th. Everyone is invited. I have submitted a list of things I think we’d all like to see taken care of on the day. Many trees removed, Hill Trail and Ken and Steve’s fully cleaned up, raspberries on Stick and Old Coot Re-Route cut back…plus more.
We’ll be bringing all our equipment, the TVG trailer and MOC is giving us use of their truck, chainsaw and leaf blower to help.
We have some loose plans and will finalize that AM when we see how many come out to help with the DCF trails.
Please see below an e-mail from Caroline (DC Forest Manager). Please reply to her e-mail vs contacting myself as she is arranging lunch that day. I look forward to seeing the big crew out!
Note: to operate a chainsaw you must be certified and have correct PPE to meet County standards and requirements.
Caroline’s e-mail is: forestmanager@dufferinmuseum.com
From Caroline and the County:
“Hello everyone,
Here are some details about our Friends of the Dufferin County Forest event planned for April 29, 2023, 10 am – 3 pm. This will be a wholly outdoor event at the Main Tract to do spring trail clearing and garbage/litter pick-up.
We will meet in the “event field” (follow the road parallel to Airport Road going south) at 10 am and disperse into the Forest from there.
Please bring any favourite hand tools such as pruners as I will have limited numbers available. Anyone certified to do chainsawing, please bring your saw and safety equipment.
We will be providing lunch – in order to facilitate that, please:
If you plan on attending, RSVP before Thursday, April 27 at 5 pm.
Let me know if you have allergies to gluten and/or lactose and/or are vegetarian.
If you have any questions, please reply with them.
Thank you,
Caroline Mach
County Forest Manager “
