Hi everyone, a bunch of us are at the Epic 8 on Saturday so we don’t have a scheduled ride this weekend.
Logging is almost complete at Jurasic Park area and clean up will commence next week. I had a great meeting with Caroline and the logging crew and it seems it’s helped a lot with the trail damage.
October 14th will be a super fun day at MOC. It’s their second annual Open House and DCF/MOC Volunteer Appreciation Day. Trails and Facility access is free to everyone for the day. And to make it more fun, MOC will be having their Hops in the Hills Festival on that day as well. This will include a fully stocked bar with plenty of local Craft Beer, Cider and non-alcoholic beverages as well and a BBQ and Chilli for purchase. Add in live music from 12-5pm and we have the makings of a great day. I’ll have more details to post up soon, but please mark this on your calendar and come out and join in celebrating the Volunteers that keep this 58km trail network running year round.
There is also a University Mountain Bike race on Sunday at MOC. It will be running from 11-2pm. Trails are still open to the public and there will be a 10km loop marked that day. If you are out riding for fun, please respect the markings and riders in the event.
