Five of us got out for a ride last night…we had an awesome time, 18km. The trails are in great shape and all the grooming everyone did set down a firm base. There is a lot of ice under the fresh cm of snow so some hills were a challenge but if you rode carefully the rest of the trails were totally rideable. We rode everything except Ken’s/Steve’s which I figure you could still ride, just more hills to deal with the possibility of ice on them.
I think with it heading well into the plus temps today with a bit of rain it will make the trails even better. The hope is that the layer of snow will adhere to the ice hidden underneath. If this happens the trails will be awesome for Friday and the weekend with the temps getting below zero.
Best to maybe avoid the trails today after it gets above zero as compressing the layer of snow will just cause it to turn to ice.
Enjoy!
