Well, this past Sunday we had an exceptional day. The sun was shining and the weather had warmed up well above the freezing mark. You can definitely tell that spring is in the air and around the corner. With all of that in mind, I jumped on the fat bike, and headed out on the road with the end destination being the ride at Dufferin Forest.
With the sun on my back, little to no wind whatsoever, it was a perfect time to spin the legs and just take in the sights and sounds of the countryside. As I rolled along the dirt roads, I started to notice little things. People! There were people outside again, working on their yards, cleaning up fallen branches, a couple sun bathing on their porch. The best part, everyone was happy, smiling, and waving as I rode by.
This started to give me a better sense that we have made it through the hump of winter. I personally spend a lot more time spinning over the winter, so I was one of those people, happy, smiling and waving to every one I saw. The sun beating down on you, gives you that joy of being outside again.
I fully recommend you take a day and do a nice casual ride around, whether it be on the roads, in the forest, or on the rail trail. Take in the sights and sounds of the world around you. Enjoy the fresh air, enjoy the time you get to spend doing something you love.
Cheers
